When The Judgment Were Computed

The 19th of April in 2005 was another uncommon occasion in history when the proclamation of "Habaemus papam!" which means, "We have a new Pope!" was once again heard all over the world while this announcement came side by side the pronouncement of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger who hails form Germany, as the newly-elected pope However, days after the historic event, the newly elected pontiff has troubled a certain degree of anxiety and gossip all over the world.

Even though his name was a constant superior in surveys before the papal elections took effect, the people had this view of the then German cardinal as the "Rottweiler of God" for his staunch defense of Roman Catholic doctrines and practices which is basically because of his being a prefect of doctrinal faith. This portrayal is somewhat a far cry from the youthful appeal his antecessor John Paul II.

But with mere a year into the office, his discourses were already a stock of controversies. His highly intellectual pensiveness seem to be constantly misunderstood by supporters of other faiths but despite these effects, he still continues to persevere in reaching out to his flock and the rest of mankind. Like his primary message to his flock, he illustrate himself as a simple laborer in God's vineyard. But for me, Benedict XVI is mere a simple German man willing to share to the world that Germany can still produce something good despite barbarity it has done in the past.
