Tasty Treat in Germany

The aftermaths of World Wars have created a negative reputation for Germany and its folks. But in reality, Germany could only be the next best place in Europe, where folks are hospitable, monuments are astounding, and the cakes are just one of the best-tasting treats this country has to offer. Believe me when I say that "Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte" is maybe one of the best German desserts I've eaten in years. I learned about it while walking along a stream of snack bars in the city, when I stopped by the window and saw the delicious layers of chocolate with whipped cream, chocolate curls, sour cream, and "Kirsch." "Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte" is also well-known as "Black Forest Cherry Torte," where "torte" signifies cake and "Kirsch" for a cherry brandy. They say that this German specialty originated from Der Schwarzwald or the Black Forest Region during 16th century, when Germans have already thought of baking a nice chocolate confection sprinkled with flavors of cream and cherry. "Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte" may also be inspired from the Black Forest with dark layers of chocolate that tell so much about the mystery and loneliness of the place area, at least according to some historians. There is so much more to this appetizingly delicious and great snack than what meets the eye.
