Aside from their distinguished thinkers and philosophers such as Marx and Engels, great musicians such as Bach and Beethoven, and substantial figures such as Wolfgang and Mozart, Germans are also known because of their love for fashion. Actually, fashion is an important part of a German's life and it is discernible with Germany's fashion figures' success descriptions. For instance are Karl Lagerfeld who once worked for notable brand names like Chanel has now a brand name of his own, also Jil Sander, Wolfgang Joop, and of course the famous brand name both for men and women, Hugo Boss.

For ordinary Germans fashion comes in terms of the fabric they want, which is very important for them and it modifies depending on the season, of course, and the form of dress. Nevertheless, more women choose satin and silk cotton, while more men prefer jeans and canvas for their apparels.
