Exceptionally placed in the popular Munich complex called Jakobsplatz, this new Jewish museum opened last 22nd of March 2007. The best focus of this museum is on the varying parts of Jewish life, highlighting its religious festivals and rites.
This 900-square-metre exhibition space is raised by celebrated architect Wandel Hoefer Lorck and is considered as Germany's second Jewish museum. It has three distinctive floors that exhibit varying Jewish collections, from scriptures to ancient religious ornaments. The first floor displays varying collections that feature Jewish life, particularly in Munich, while the two floors feature temporary exhibitions including artworks by new Jewish artists. Some artifacts found in this recent museum include a 1500 wedding ring used by historic Jews, a Sukkoth holiday (Feast of Tabernacles) prayer book that lasted for 550 years, and an old Renaissance manuscript.
According to Christian Ude, the cherished mayor of Munich, this new building is for Jews and even non-Jews because it is an avenue of understanding between two communities that was wrecked by cultural differences. Hence, it can be said that this Jewish museum spontaneously serves as evidence that Germany has fully thrived not only economically but also spiritually. So if you want a useful escapade in Germany, just drop by this Jewish Museum.
